"Close Encounters for 1st Team"

Well we started our League campaign with a hard fought undeserved defeat, Having had most of the possession & chances in the first half.we could'nt finish, some very good chances fell to Alex, Tristan, Pat to name a few. If we can just keep our concentration at these times and not panick on the ball. we would find the net a lot more often, saying that the running and committment was second to none, Young Will had a good debut. and will come on for that, So going in 0-0 at half time. gave us belief that we are gelling together. players were upbeat and bonded well. We started as we meant to go on. attacking but to no avail, Then we had a 10 minutes of madness. firstly a schoolboy error of ball watching and not picking up cost us, 1-0 down and we re-grouped and set off to put things right, A dead ball from them into the far post saw them rise above our tallest players to head home, (attack the ball & dont watch it), 2-0 down, we then learnt the error of our ways and looked like the team I knew was there, attack after attack.peppering their goal finally gave us our just rewards with a powerfull volley from Luke. to put us in with a slim chance 2-1, the minutes ticked away with us still trying for the equaliser. but it was'nt to be, Final score 2-1, A very good performance for the 1st game. and if you boys keep that level up.and clear up the schoolboy errors we will have a good season, ONWARDS-AND-UPWARDS
